I'm booking up the calendar for our second year of the gluten free online blogging event, Go Ahead Honey its Gluten Free and looking for bloggers who would like to host a month.
To see how it's done with panache and a delicious sprinkling of wit, have a look at this month's round up of Manly Food at Simply Gluten Free.
To host a month, just comment here or email me on naomidevlin @ f2s.com with your preferred month (starting September 09). Chose your theme (I will help as much or little as you like) let me know and I'll give you the details of the hosts before and after you.
All you need to do is post your theme at the beginning of your month and post the round up at the end - of course you might want to take part and contribute something too.....
Hosting can be a great way to get traffic to your blog, meet other gluten free bloggers and cook something you might otherwise not have done. Sometimes we even get non gluten free bloggers participating - now ain't that all inclusive?
There are no rules to this event, beyond the theme and the deadline. It's just a lovely way for us gluten and grain free bloggers to celebrate all that we have and show off a little.
So what are you waiting for?

Be happy to do a month, I would like to do Chocolate or Desserts if possible.
Cheryl,
So say we all!
How about September? Seems like a perfect oportunity for some chocolate action as the nights are still warm but starting to draw in? Or november?
Let me know and I'll pencil you in.

I haven't been at this (gluten free) all that long, but I would love to do a roundup. I think I would like October and I would like NUTS to be the theme.
I would love to host a month and I don't have a preference for when.
Since I find myself using too many dishes in most of my GF dishes, I'd say a good challenge theme would be one-pot/pan meals.

I emailed you with my theme idea, but I would love to host the month of October!
I'll hesitantly sign up, I'm not very creative though....no ideas for themes :P
I do however, enjoy reading everyone else's ideas each month.
Tori etc,
Could you take September 09 or November 09, as october 09 is gone? You know I love nuts, so I think this is a great theme!

laura,
I think one pot meals are fantastic, but the delightful Carrie of Ginger Lemon Girl already nabbed that one. How about slow cooked food, or pot roast or stews of the world, which could include things like curry and persian koresht?
I'm thinking January or Febuary for that one? What do you say? x x x
Katrina,
I love your theme, but unfortunately october is already allocated to a pumpkin theme..... You could either co-host, or pick another theme. x x x
Steph,
Aww, now you're just being modest - I know you could come up with a theme on your own. Email me with some ideas and we can work on something together. If in doubt, we haven't had anything cakey for a while....

Let's make it January and "Stews Around the World"-- good idea!
Thanks. :)
laura,
Great! I've put you down for January and I'll let you know who's hosting december and feb as soon as everything is sorted.

Hi Naomi - did anyone pick November? Might be cool to do a cookie month, with the holidays around the corner.
trish,
Nobody has confirmed for november although I have offered it to a few people. I'm going to have to operate a first come first served policy I think. I wonder if cookies would be good for december? they're a great thing to give away aren't they. What do you think?
I will contact the folks I've offered november to and check first as it may still be free, but I think december would be great for this.

sure, December would be fine!
Trish,
Yay! How about Cookies for Christmas? (Cookies for Hanukah, Thanksgiving and the winter solstice doesn't have the same ring, but I'm sure all of those lovely celebrations could be included?) x x x
Who is hosting this month?
Katrina,
Shirley Braden of Gluten Free Easily is hosting this month, I'll write a reminder because I don't think it's very clear in the round up for this month.
The theme is, 'Make me a Happy Camper!' camp food, so crack out those camping stoves, light up the camp fire, or maybe even go camping and photograph what you ate (cue fifteen pictures of baked beans...)

great blog. i love it!
Hi Naomi! Are all of the remaining months this year spoken for? I'd love to host your fab event at some point.
Participating sounds like just as much fun, though! I'll have to think up something camp-y for July. :)
I think I would like to host a month too - but I have an absolute lack of inspiration, no idea what kind of theme I would go for....
We would love to host 'Go Ahead Honey its Gluten Free'...April 2010 with a them of "Breakfast in Bed?"

I would like to host it sometime! I think a great idea for February 2010 is "I'm dreaming of a Tropical Vacation" and have to cook/bake something Caribbean inspired.
I'd love to do a month! I don't have any preference other than it is not December. As a theme how about all things Yoghurt?
Sorry, slow to respond, will be happy to host September if still avail.
Guys, pending a couple of confirmations the calendar until next July is now full. I will book next year from August 2010 to july 2011 in the late spring. So anybody who wanted to host this year and didn't get back to me fast enough can save their lovely ideas for next time.
In the meantime, I hope you all have fun taking part.
Tori etc, I'm really sorry, but all the months this year went really fast and october was booked up already, you didn't reply to my last comment offering another month.
Steph, you have a whole year to think of something now!
Frix, I didn't hear back from you in time, but I look forward to hearing next year.
Cheryl, unfortunately you left it a little long to get back to me, but we will look forward to something chocolatey next year - that never goes out of fashion!
I'll post a list of hosts soon and let all hosts know the details of people hosting the months before and after so that you can liase on posting dates.

Hi Naomi, June 2010 it is!
Thanks for your comment about the yoghurt volume which I promptly showed to my partner. As fast as I can make the yoghurt he is eating it! You are so right to mention too much almond flour and honey as well. I had been saying to my partner last week that this is not the Specific Cake and Muffin Diet and have refused to make any more than 24 muffins a week! Even that is excessive (even if I am having a few). In his defence he has been on a very very simple diet for many years with no dairy and no sugar (even fresh fruit was limited) so at the moment he's like a kid in a candy shop.
Thanks again for the advice - much appreciated and keep the inspirational recipes coming.

NP, was out of town and no internet..
Looking forward to participating till one opens to host. Thanks for all the work you have put in.
Oh, I did e-mail you back (at: naomidevlin@f2s.com) ! I responded as soon as I got you comment. Pity you didn't get that...
Hopefully I'll have better luck next year :-)
Penny, it sounds like you have the right idea anyway - how lucky he is to have you cooking for him with such care and talent! It is possible to develop temporary dairy intolerance if you eat too much of it without having developed your gut flora and the relevant enzyme production to digest casein.
Cheryl, I'll make sure you get a month next year - there was quite a scramble!
Frix, I didn't get the email - I'm really sorry about that. I left a comment on your blog and we can talk about it soon.

Hello Naomi,
I just send you an email, hope you get it this time ;-)
Banana Ice Cream with a pinch of vanilla, that does sound good ! I will have to give it a try !
Just found your blog - will have to look into previous months. Not gluten free myself but cook for a growing number of gluten free people. It's potato and rice pastry this week. Different gluten free bread recipes might be a good theme. I made a rice and nettle bread a few weeks ago. I could do February - the only relatively quiet month I get.
I would be happy host! it sure seems easier than a Tupperware party that's for sure! I am a new Celiac and always looking for new food I can eat. So I like to post when I find these yummy and tasty foods. Being on a Blog posting for a month would make me get recipe box together in no time sounds like fun!
Wanda,
I'm afraid we're full for this year, but I will let you know if there are spaces for next year.
